Test your need for speed at EPSC annual ski races at the Council Cup Race.
The 2013 EPSC Council Cup Race and Council Day will be on Mar. 3, 2013 at Bear Creek Resort in Macungie. We are looking to invite all club members to join us on the Council Day. If you would like to race that is great, if you just want to come and ski, we will be delighted to see you.
All ski clubs participating in the race need to seed their teams in groups of four men and two women, with three men’s times and one woman’s times from each of the two individual runs counting as the team’s total time. Clubs could enter as many teams as they like, including “masters” teams with all participants over the age of 60. Prizes were awarded for the top team, the top Masters team, the sixth place team which earns the “B” cup, the fastest single run for men and women, including Masters, the Frank Cressman Trophy for the fastest person over 60 and the fastest snowboarder.
Registration materials will be published on the webpage so registration is easy for the team captain’s. The registration table opens about 8:30 am and the teams are accepted on a first come first go basis. Master teams go first followed by everyone else in bib order. Results are announced after the race.
Food and beverages are on your own to keep the cost down and we meet one of the banquet rooms so all of your bags are safe. In addition, Nastar medals are awarded to all who meet the handicap requirements.
If you have never tried it, give it a run this season. You might find you like it.
