As the new Council president, I am pleased to say that the events and trips of the 2007-2008 ski season are all planned for your enjoyment!   They are listed in this issue for your reading pleasure.  Take a look and add the events and selected trips to your calendar.

The President's Picnic is one event that has already been held.  At the end of July many Club reps and presidents came together to exchange ideas.  It was a warm summer evening with good food and lots of discussion on eight different topics.  Everyone left with new ideas to take to their clubs.  A big thank you goes to Maddi Dondore for organizing the event and John Lott for providing the location and his grilling expertise.

Be sure not to miss the EPSC Winterfest Auction on Friday, November 9 at Williamson's Restaurant in Horsham, PA.  Save $5 buy purchasing your tickets from your club's EPSC rep by November 2!  The items that are up for auction range from equipment to ski trips.  New this year will be a Club Basket competition.  Be sure to get your club involved in this friendly competition that will support the Pennsylvania Center for Adapted Sports.  This is a big event for our Council, so purchase your tickets early and come on out for a fun evening!

Two additional events in November are the Warren Miller film at the Academy of Natural Sciences on Nov. 18 and the Valley Forge Ski and Travel Show Nov 18-19.  Attend both and you'll be ready to hit the snow!

EPSC's largest Winter Carnival is January 16-26, 2008!  As Carnival co-chairs, Dave Schoneker and I are very pleased to see such an amazing response from the clubs participating on the Breckenridge trip!  Vail Resorts and JoAnn Pieretti from JP Tours have really put together quite the package for those attending the Carnival.  If your club's Breckenridge trip is full, contact Dave or me to sign up on the EPSC's Melting Pot group.  This is going to be a really great Carnival week in Colorado.

I would like to thank Mary Ann Thomas for her last two years as the Council President.  She has brought the Council forward and has left me some very big shoes to fill.  I look forward to working with her in her new position as Past President and her help in continuing to move our Council into the future.

On a final note, I would like to pose to you on word: Imagine!  I would like to see what the Council can do to increase awareness of our clubs and boost each club's membership.  We are in need of a Council Public Relations chair to help with this concept.  If you are up for the challenge,  please contact me to fill this position.

Have fun and be safe on the snow!

Bob Smith
